Summer Thieves return with ‘Funny How The Mind Works’, taken from their upcoming third album. 

‘Funny How The Mind Works’ with it’s funky groove and catchy, sing-a-long vocal hook is ready made for summer cruising, once again demonstrating the versatility Summer Thieves are known for. The single arrives alongside the official video, directed by Taylor Mansfield. The video is inspired by classic videos like Beastie Boys’ ‘Intergalactic’, embracing a tongue-in-cheek playful vibe. 

Set for release later in 2023, their new album weaves seamlessly through pop, rock, reggae and funk while staying true to the Summer Thieves sound that has won fans over across their massive summer shows in New Zealand and Australia. ‘Funny How The Mind Works’ shows the lighter side of the album, bringing a sound that is inspired by 90’s California-surfer-bands, put through an NZ filter. 

‘Funny How The Mind Works’ arrives just as the band wrap up a busy summer of touring, including marquee performances at festivals Rhythm & Vines & Electric Avenue. The band have performed over 10 festival or headline shows, with a second run of Australian dates to come in April supporting L.A.B.
