Bob Marley’s influence on our nation cannot be underestimated. His one and only concert in New Zealand, at Auckland’s Western Springs in April 1979, left a lasting mark on a country still striving to define its cultural identity.
Bob inspired a feeling of hope in New Zealand that still resonates to this day.
After the Marley estate blessed us with recording confirmation on Friday the 1st of August, by the following Wednesday (Jamaican Independence Day) we had 22 amazing NZ artists collaborating on this inspiring project.
"Get Up, Stand Up" was the last performed on stage, on September 23, 1980 at the Stanley Theater, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Let’s keep his voice alive by getting up, standing up and making a positive change for generations to come.
