Harry Charles releases the third single “Smoke & Dust” ahead of his new album Movement. Featuring up & coming Christchurch MC Senzu, ‘Smoke & Dust” has a laid back hiphop flow over Harry Charles signature guitar & groove production style.

‘Smoke & Dust’ explores themes of self-awareness, personal growth, societal excess, and the influence of culture on individual behavior. The lyrics mix introspection with social commentary, blending psychedelic exploration with critiques of materialism and conformity. Based in Christchurch, Senzu is Harry Charles younger, and their first released collaboration.

“My musical path has always been laced with the love of Hip Hop. Forever influenced by the groove and soul that resides within it, the rebellious and underground nature of it and the immense amount of intelligence behind the poetry. I’ve always had beats in my project folders and finally one has come to the surface. My younger brother James also found a love for the genre and since his early high school days has written rhyme after rhyme, ever evolving as a lyricist. This is the first release from Szenu, with more coming from him very soon.” - Harry Charles

‘Smoke & Dust’ is the latest taste of Movement, the sophomore album from Harry Charles. His first release since his return home after several years living in Berlin, Harry is a guitarist and songwriter at his core who has evolved into a producer and live electronic act over the past decade. This body of work is a reflection of that growth, incorporating sounds of downtempo, electronic and organic house alongside live vocals and guitar. ‘Smoke & Dust’ shows off the sound of an album that is rooted in electronic music, with a few surprises along the way.
