Loop is excited to present the first release from a unique music project which is tailor made for the people of Australasia - the Kingston Sound System, a project which re-imagines a range of massive international hits working with the original vocalists and the Kingston Sound System to recreate the songs in an authentic reggae style.
The first release is ‘Higher Love’, the chart topping 80’s banger from Steve Winwood.
The track features the original vocals of Winwood, with an all-new instrumental recording coming straight out of the vibrant musical metropolis of Kingston, Jamaica. The authentic reggae sound is captured by a band which includes musicians who have played with the likes of Ziggy Marley, Peter Tosh, Sly & Robbie, Wyclef Jean & countless other reggae legends. While dripping with an unmistakable reggae sound that can only come out of Jamaica, this version of ‘Higher Love’ feels just at home in South Pacific.
This track is the first release from a project titled Classic Hits In A Reggae Groove, which will see an eclectic range of hits reimagined by the Kingston Sound System, all using the original vocals and created with the blessings of the original performers.
