L.A.B drop their latest single, ‘Follow’, a track which brings the summertime feeling and the trademark L.A.B sound. Led by vocals from front man Joel Shadbolt, the track combines playful acoustic guitars and bass to create sun-soaked vibes. The track was co-written and co-produced by the band alongside fellow Kiwi Josh Fountain (Leisure, BENEE).

Speaking about the track, Shadbot says “harmonically and sonically, it takes you on a journey. It’s a track that was dreamed up in the studio, and went through many different versions before settling on the final product that you hear.

The single arrives alongside an official music video, shot by frequent collaborator Shae Sterling. The video was shot on the band’s second visit to Hawaii, which saw them play two shows alongside Californian roots-band Iration.

We shot the video after playing two shows at The Maui Arts Centre and the Waikiki Shell, and managed to get some locals on board to help us. We met a lot of the people in the video out at dinner one night, and they were so welcoming, it really reminded us of home,” Shadbolt says. Shot across local spots such as Kaena Point and Mōliʻi Fishpond, the video sees the band embracing the local lifestyle, surfing and jamming across the stunning island.

‘Follow’ comes after a year that has already seen L.A.B sell out shows in New Zealand, Australia and the United States. The coming months will see them not only return to the studio, but also tour across NZ, followed by a return to Australia for the first time in nearly two years. Tickets for all shows are selling fast, with sellouts expected across both countries.
