Members of the Loop whānau, L.A.B & Troy Kingi have both taken home multiple awards at this years Waiata Māori Music Awards.
L.A.B have yet again taken out the Waiata Māori Music Award for Best Māori Pop Album, Best Song & Best Māori Group, following the release of their number one album L.A.B IV. There are no signs of L.A.B slowing down with the bands summer of live performances across New Zealand & Australia, including headline shows at Hagley Park in Christchurch and at Auckland’s iconic Western Springs. These shows all feature a 100% local lineup, and are set to be some of the biggest shows this summer.
Published by Loop Publishing, Troy Kingi (Te Arawa, Ngāpuhi, Te Whānau-ā-Apanui) has picked up Best R'n'B Album, Best Māori Songwriter & Best Māori Male Solo Artist, all dedicated to the release of his nostalgia-filled record The Ghost of Freddie Cesar. This will be Kingi's second year in a row taking home multiple Waiata Māori Music Awards.
