10 Years Of Sustainable Coastlines w/ The Black Seeds & L.A.B.
When & Where
** SOLD OUT **
Since its creation 10 years ago, Sustainable Coastlines has had a simple mission: to enable people to look after the coastlines and waterways they love. To help celebrate this milestone, Corona Sunsets are proud to present 10 Years of Sustainable Coastlines, featuring live music from The Black Seeds and L.A.B..
This one-off show at Mantells on the Water in Auckland’s Wynyard Quarter will see proceeds benefitting the amazing work Sustainable Coastlines take on. Tickets are available Friday February 23 from Eventfinda.
For Sustainable Coastlines, there is plenty to celebrate. Over the last 10 years, the charity has become one of the most awarded and highly respected environmental charities in New Zealand. They have motivated over 70,000 people to remove more than 1.3 million litres of rubbish, educated over 185,000 people and have just come home with the most prestigious youth award for sustainability on the planet.
"The idea is to incentivise good behaviour with epic music," says Sam Judd, co-founder of Sustainable Coastlines and 2013 Young New Zealander of the Year. “We think that the good people who volunteer with us deserve some sweet Kiwi tunes to celebrate giving back to the places we all love.” Proud partners of Sustainable Coastlines for several years, Corona are excited to not only be a part of this show, but to also support their continued efforts protecting New Zealand’s coastlines.
September saw The Black Seeds release their sixth album, Fabric. Since then, they have toured New Zealand and played to capacity audiences across the New Year period. Their only Auckland show for summer, The Black Seeds have long been supporters and partners of Sustainable Coastlines, and this show will give them a chance to celebrate the best way they know how.
After spending summer on the Corona Sunsets Presents tour across New Zealand, L.A.B. will be bringing their unique blend of soulful-rock and electronic-funk to Mantells on the Water. Founded by Brad & Stu Kora, Ara Adams-Tamatea (Katchafire) and Joel Shadbolt, the band are quickly growing into one of the country’s most sought after live acts. A collection of keen surfers, the band are set to help show their support and love to Sustainable Coastlines with an epic performance.
The evening will also open with a solo set from Jake Barton, the frontman from Summer Thieves.
Thanks to Corona Sunsets, join us in celebrating this huge milestone for a great Kiwi institution in Sustainable Coastlines.
