Yoko-Zuna Live in Melbourne
When & Where
Yoko-Zuna are set to play a series of Australian album and live showcase shows this March. After massive slots over the New Year period in New Zealand at Rhythm & Vines and Rhythm & Alps, Yoko-Zuna are gearing up for a big 2018 including the release of their second album.
These shows will see them showcase tracks from the upcoming album with their electric live show, including recent singles ‘Voltron’ and ‘Day Job’. The Auckland-based four piece will be bringing their combination of unique electronic/hip-hop compositions to Sydney and Melbourne audiences for the first time, for two shows not to miss.
They will be supported at both shows by Sydney artist Godriguez, who has recently released his debut album ‘Godtet’ as well as boasting production on Sampa The Great’s mixtape, ‘The Great Mixtape’.
Formed from the ashes of one of Auckland’s most musically creative hubs, Yoko-Zuna have quickly established themselves as one of the most exciting bands to come out of NZ and are a festival favourite across the ditch.
In 2015 the band released their debut album ‘This Place Here’ which showcased a sound that had been rarely heard in New Zealand. The band then backed the debut up by releasing their ‘Luminols’ EP in 2016 which featured some of New Zealand’s best musicians.
2018 will see the band release their second album, which is set to feature collaborations with Noah Slee, P-Money, SWIDT and more. These two shows will offer an exclusive preview of the release.
