First off, we hope you enjoyed the amazing show that was PLAY ON at Auckland's Pop-up Globe Theatre! The sold-out show was nothing short of magical, and we wanted to say a huge thank you for being a part of something special!
We want to keep the magic alive with this one-of-a-kind project, and that's why we are getting in touch! We're recording a full studio album of the songs, and have launched a BOOSTED campaign with which we need your help! Check out the BOOSTED campaign HERE.
Every donation will be put straight into the recording process for the album, which we are beginning this very weekend!
On the night, Paul McLaney enlisted the help of high profile actors and musicians including Maisey Rika, Julia Deans, Esther Stephens, Laughton Kora, Cameron Rhodes, Mara TK, Richie Pickard (double bass), Andrew Keegan (drums), Jessica Hindin (violin), Mahuia Bridgeman-Cooper (violin), Rachel Wells (cello). The cast and band will be the same for the album.
Achieving our target will enable us to professionally record all 14 original songs from PLAY ON and create a full album! If we surpass our goal all additional funds raised will be used to start the creation of an accompanying educational tool to promote Shakespeare in schools.
If you weren't there on the night, or want to relive some of the maigc, you can listen to the background documentary on Radio NZ, and check out a live clip from the show here.
Head to BOOSTED for all the info and to donate. A huge thanks to the team at Boosted and The Arts Foundation, and to you in advance!
With thanks,
Paul McLaney & the Play On crew
