The Upbeats
by The Upbeats / 2004
Release Notes
Wellington duo The Upbeats (Jeremy Glenn & Dylan Jones) have joined fellow locals Concord Dawn and Shapeshifter in stamping Aotearoa's brand of drum'n'bass firmly on the world stage.
The self-titled debut album from the New Zealand D'n'B stalwarts brings together an impressive spectrum of broken beat tracks. Ranging from the hard as nails workouts of 'Late Night Fright' and 'Binge Drinker' (the latter famously recorded at the Dargaville RSA) through to the effortlessly melodic 'More Than Me', the album shows an impressive knack for catchy hooks and dancefloor stormers.
"World class. The proof is in their pudding with their bloody good debut album. Beware of noise control, they found me. 4 STARS" - Rip It Up Magazine
